I grew up in Central Illinois and never left. My siblings made it as far as the biggest cities in Missouri, but eventually came back, and now their kids' childhoods are happening here too. Through them, and through my images, I explore what it means to grow up and grow older in this landscape—a place that feels at once comforting and alienating, expansive and constraining.
